YAESU BH-1 Bluetooth stereo headset

The Yaesu BH-1 Bluetooth? Headset requires the BU-1 Bluetooth? Adapter (sold separately) in order to work with the Yaesu VX-8R. The effective range is approximately 30 feet. When you move out of range the beeper sounds a low pitch tone. When you move back into range the beeper emits a high pitch tone. The BH-1 can be recharged (in about 3 hours) by placing it in the CD-40 Charger Cradle (sold separately). In order to operate in a true stereo fashion you would also have to add the FEP-4 earphone, sold separately. (This stereo configuration would not be suggested for mobile operation!).

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Yaesu announced on 12/12/08 that the BH-1 and BH-2 units were not fully compatible with the VX8R as earlier announced. On 03/27/09 the BH-1 was replaced by the BH-1A and the BH-2 was replaced by the BH-2A.
